Where is Obergurgl?
Obergurgl-Hochgurgl is located in the West of Austria, in the province of Tirol. It sits amidst the south-facing side valley of Ötztal.
Easy to reach:
Despite being high in the mountains- base level 1950m, Obergurgl is just 75 minutes by car from Innsbruck airport, or 3 hours from Munich. Taxi companies are plentiful and all the well-known hire companies have car hire at the airport.
Taxi tipotsch provides 10 seater buses as well as luxury Range Rover and Porsche for the more discerning guests!

From Meran in Sout Tyrol across Timmelsjoch high Alpine pass road (2500 m) to Obergurgl-Hochgurgl: the pass road is open from early June to mid/end of October, it is a toll road!
If you prefer to arrive by plane you will need to book at flight to Innsbruck Airport (INN). Daily flights are scheduled from all over Europe. Innsbruck airport also has a private terminal for those arriving by private jet
Both British Airways and Easyjet have daily flights to Innsbruck from Gatwick
From the Innsbruck airport you can reach Ötztal by train, bus or taxi.

Forget the car, the plane, the bus and your worries when you travel by train. The trains of Austria’s ÖBB or Germany’s DB railway companies are a great, reliable way to get to Tirol. In Ötztal you will have to change from the train to the direct bus line or a taxi to The Chalet at 11º East.

GETTING TO THE CHALET AT 11º EAST
(once you arrive in Obergurgl)
The Chalet is in a very peaceful central location and benefits from having no through traffic since it is located at the end of the Ötztal Valley. The slopes are right on your doorstep and all of the main lifts are no more than a couple of minutes walk, whilst shops and bars for après-ski are just around the corner.
