Many people like the idea of skiing over Easter but are concerned about the snow levels! Obergurgl has an unrivalled snow performance and the photos below were taken on Saturday 19th April! Overnight we had an incredible 12 inches of fresh snow , making for a wonderful powdery and sunny day.
Obergurgl has a base level of 1930 meters and most slopes face north west, explaining why the snow lasts so much longer than in other resorts. Of course the mountain huts- Nederhütte, Hohe Mut Alm: Obergurgl and Davides Hutte especially have excellent sun decks, equipped with the comfiest of deck chairs, to allow a little tanning between skiing. www.nederhuette.at/ http://www.hohemutalm.com
Innsbruck is just 90 minutes away making Obergurgl an ideal break, be it for a week or perhaps a long weekend. Both Easyjet and British Airways have flights from Gatwick on daily basis throughout the winter.British Airways – britishairways.com easyJet.com
The slopes are beautifully pisted and far less busy than some of the more well known Swiss & French resorts!
