One of our favourite ski holiday specialists, www.welove2ski.com has recently featured Obergurgl as a great destination to ski this winter! The article, written by Michael Zwischenbrugger, a long time Obergurgl resident and ski instructor, describes the resort as a “high, snowsure and charming” destination for ski holidays. We think Zwischenbrugger captured the essence of Obergurgl perfectly in his detailed overview of the resort. When speaking about his home of 26 years, he says “We’re a quiet resort, at the end of a long valley – so there’s not much traffic in the village and we hardly ever get lift queue. There’s a relaxed, low-key atmosphere on the pistes, too. This is not the kind of place where people are skiing like lunatics.”
The article gives a detailed overview of Obergurgl as a premier destination for ski holidays with sections on the history of the resort, essential advice for the perfect trip, a guide to the mountain, where to learn how to ski, dining options and where to stay.
The Chalet at 11° East is named in the “where to stay” section of the article as a unique option in the Austrian resort with a location “in a peaceful spot a short walk from the lifts.” The article goes on to describe the Chalet as “a beautifully designed luxury chalet with bags of airy space” and recognizes elements of the flawless design such as, “clean lines, much use of slate and blonde, solid pine – and tactile, cowhide wall-coverings.”
We are thrilled to be included in this great article along with some of our favourite attractions in Obergurgl. To read the full article on welove2ski.com please click here: http://welove2ski.com/obergurgl.
