2. Cycling

The Ötztal region hosts fantastic cycling/biking routes from beginner to expert levels. One of the most popular routes is from Obergurgl to the Langtalereckhütte Hut. The terrain is easy enough to navigate and once you reach the mountain hut you’ll be at the edge of a high Alpine basin formed by the glacier snouts of Gurgler Ferner. 3. Climbing

The area has two main climbing routes- Zirbenwald and Shwärzenkamm – both via Ferrata. Zirbenwald is an intermediate route that would be considered family-friendly with kids over 10 years of age. Shwärzenkamm is more difficult and recommended for those who have experience climbing in the area. If you are an experienced climber this is a wonderful route that offers 3-4 hours of climbing and panoramic views amid the glacier world!

4. Horseback Riding

Enjoy a leisurely horseback ride on a Tirolean Haflinger horse! Tours are available through Hotel Edelweiss & Gurgl who also have a top modern riding hall 100m from the hotel. To book or find out more, email: info@haflinger.cc.
