Perhaps a part of the next generation of great athletes to come out of the Granite State (think Bode Miller and Leanne Smith), Ronnie Berlack of Franconia knows what it’s like to ski on the rock hard snow that’s standard at the elite level. The Burke Mountain Academy student landed a spot on the U.S. Development Team for 2014 after wowing coaches at a spring tryout camp held at Mammoth Mountain. It didn’t hurt that he placed an impressive 17th overall in super G at the 2013 Nature Valley U.S. Alpine Championships and landed top 25 in seven NorAm races that same season
